What is GetDeals.Mobi?
GetDeals.Mobi is a local start up based in Columbus, Ohio that offers text4deals services to small businesses across the country. It was started by a couple of pretty young guys – one of whom I met just the other day discussing another one of his projects CustomEliteSocks.com (we’re in discussion for helping them update their website). Anyway, for $50 a month your company can sign up for a year long service allowing you to access their customer database.
From what the gentleman I met with told me it’s been pretty successful for the individuals that have signed up for it so far. In fact CustomEliteSocks.com uses the service to bring in some extra business.
How it Works
GetDeals.mobi has a network of individuals across the country who have opted in to receive deals from the company. You set up your deal by asking people to text the a word to a number (i.e. text Chocolate to 81078) – in return the user receives a coupon code directly to their phone. It’s that simple. As is stated on their FAQ’s page the deals are generally a short time period to get users to act quickly.
Why it might be good for your small business
Everyone knows that a little more foot traffic and a few more sales a month is a good thing for ANY small business. GetDeals.mobi offers an extremely low cost advertising avenue for your company. Text deals are different than other advertising avenues because they are an opt-in style of advertising. As such, you’re guaranteed to reach your customer directly.
Conclusions & Final Thoughts
I have to be honest – for a long time I was skeptical about the effectiveness of text deals. Most of us have received those annoying texts saying CONGRATULATIONS YOU JUST WON $10,000! This service appears to be nothing like that. It’s a completely opt in based service that connects your business with customers interested in your product. As far as new customer acquisition costs go this seems to be one of the more affordable ways to go about it. If you’re interested in signing up check out GetDeals.mobi today.
