Tweetbombing

Today I got a chance to experience my first tweetbombing today. For those of you that don’t know what tweetbombing is it is a daily activity that happens on Twitter. If you are on Twitter and would like to learn about tweetbombing for yourself check out @tweetbomb on Twitter.

Tweetbombing happens every weekday at 3:33 PM EST. The twitter user tweetbomb gives posts a tweet giving all of his followers a name and a phrase to say and every follower he has is supposed to give that update at some point in the day…preferably right at the outset. The whole idea behind it is really just all in good fun but there are some benefits of being the person who is getting tweetbombed.

Generally the tweetbombing is so successful that it gets people into the trending topics section of search.twitter.com and generally the person getting tweetbombed will get a pretty substantial amount of followers out of the whole ordeal.

I haven’t been tweetbombed myself but I can always keep my fingers crossed.
