A few weeks ago I wrote a post about the Influx of Twitter Spammers. I went on to say that if Twitter didn’t take care of that problem they would go the way of many of the other Social Media and Networking sites that have had spamming problems and fail. Well today I am here to tell you why I was dead wrong.
Twitter is here to stay. They continue to grow daily in popularity and user base but more importantly they continue to bring in great business for many people all over the internet. Dell recently sent out numbers that they made over $1 Million Dollars on Twitter last year a few weeks back. While a million dollars might not be a huge chunk of change for a company like dell, it is a large number for many other businesses out there, and is a number that certainly cannot be ignored.
Twitter still has yet to come up with a way to create its revenue model for their business, and that may seem like a downfall, but I am not quite sure it is. They are taking their time to come up with their own revenue model, and if their revenue model is as innovative as Twitter itself, they are probably going to blow us all out of the water.
The main reason that Twitter is here to stay is simple, if the founders of Twitter start to fail, they will find many investors interested in spending a lot of money to keep Twitter going, and they will find a way to create a successful revenue model.
If you haven’t gotten involved in the Twitterverse yet, I suggest you do, it really is a lot of fun, and you can meet a lot of interesting and intelligent people.
Till Next Time…
